Damage Appeal Form for Spring 2009

All appeals must be made within 30 days of the date specified on your billing letter.

You have grounds for a damage appeal:

  • If you claim that another person is responsible for the damage, that person must send a signed letter claiming full responsibility. (The person or persons accepting responsibility will be billed in full for the damage in question.) Letters should be sent to your Area Office (Newing, Dickinson, Hinman, etc.) at Binghamton University, PO BOX 6000, Binghamton, NY 13902-6000
  • If damage that you believe was caused by wear and tear.
  • If billed for an incorrect item or action

Note: Damage billing amounts are pre-determined and are based on labor, materials and administration costs. The specific costs of damage items are not appealable. Please be reminded that although you may have done a preliminary room review with an RA, the RD does the assessing for billing.
